Specific Impulse Inc. Launches StageOne™ Web Content Publisher
Full Suite of Web Site Publishing Tools Puts Business Professionals in the Driver's Seat
San Jose, California - July 31, 2001 - Specific Impulse Inc. today released StageOne™, a full suite of web site publishing tools designed to let marketing, sales, support, and HR professionals securely self-publish virtually any corporate web site content from anywhere, anytime, without needing to know HTML. The system features a business-oriented control panel with tools for managing press releases, news, events, job postings, executive biographies, success stories, and other web site content. Guided by simple fill-in forms and graphical editing tools, including a point-and-click web page editor, business professionals can update both database-driven content and freeform web pages in minutes. "Because StageOne is web-based, business professionals can make updates to their site from home, office, or on the road," said Rich Julius, president of Specific Impulse. "There's no software for them to install, they don't have to wait for a webmaster to push their content, and they don't have to worry about how the web page is coded. They can even schedule the date and time for their updates to appear on the site." StageOne is designed to free web/IT staff from rote web site administration and content update tasks, while simultaneously removing web publishing bottlenecks. "Our StageOne system practically paid for itself in six months, just through reduced maintenance costs. It's essentially our webmaster," said Wendy Ikebe, Director of Marketing for NewChannel, Inc., a leading provider of hosted sales channel solutions and one of five StageOne beta sites. "But that was only part of the benefit. What it gave us in terms of increased ability to execute was priceless." StageOne can be hosted as an application service on Specific Impulse's own secure servers, or it can be installed on the customer's webserver, with Specific Impulse providing setup and installation support. Available through quarterly subscription pricing or through a one-time license fee with maintenance contract, the hosted version eliminates most web/IT tasks, from installation of the application server to backup and software upgrades and licensing. StageOne can be used to drive new or existing web sites, without restrictions to graphic design or layout. It is also highly customizable, enabling companies to tailor the control panel to their own unique information architecture. It supports control panels and web pages in multiple languages for offices abroad, as well as web sites designed for wireless devices. It also supports partner extranets and personalized visitor pages that improve a company's ability to conduct business and compete at Internet speed. "More and more of our clients are asking for control-panel driven web sites, both to drive down site maintenance costs and improve the speed at which they can deliver critical messages," reports Chi-Ping Li, Principal of Designworks, one of Silicon Valley's premier graphic design firms. "Working with Specific Impulse we can offer a total solution to our clients, one that really helps them attain their business goals." Optional modules manage marketing collateral and online documentation libraries, HTML/email newsletters, training and conference registration, and a variety of information forms for virtually any type of data collection. Experts in web site and system design, Specific Impulse will also build completely custom modules for any clients with unique requirements. Despite its ease of use, StageOne is enterprise-scalable, and supports integration with sophisticated web technologies like LDAP, calendaring, discussion boards, search, and wireless gateways. The open-system architecture means the customer's web site is never trapped within a proprietary system. "The system is very flexible, and is architected to grow with your company, so it should never become obsolete," said Specific Impulse CTO Chester M. Regen, PhD. "It supports virtually any database platform, from Microsoft Access and the open source mySQL, to Microsoft SQLServer and Oracle. But the real power, based on many years of experience building web systems for our clients, is in the intuitive design of the StageOne control panel." StageOne is available today; call 408-291-0071 for a demonstration, or visit the website at http://www.specific-impulse.com/stageone to learn more.
